Houdini Simulation
"Hollow Purple"

My Houdini Project: “Imaginary Technique Hollow Purple.” consists of a particle simulation between two opposite spheres of opposite energy mixing together into a bigger sphere merging with the colors and scaling in power.

The Concept is Inspired by the anime: "Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo's Imaginary Technique Hollow Purple." as it is an ultimate attack from him.

Creating the base of Purple Sphere consisted of adding a texture to a base sphere that would have particles spawn from it outwards. after setting a second sphere outside for the particles to collide with, I created noise and rotation parameters so i have control over how particles behave inside the sphere.

I created a smoke simulation referencing another sphere, this would be used as a reference for particles to spawn from. by adding a moving noise texture on the sphere, i can set particles to spawn based on that for a more randomized aura effect to surround the Purple Sphere.

I used the existing Purple Sphere as a base for the red and blue spheres and utilized parameters to mess with noise frequency and velocity. On top I added particle trails for both spheres falling behind as they near each other.

For the Background, I opted for a vortex created based on curves and have particle spawn from them. by creating various curved shapes with different rotation speeds, I had a better control of how the cortex would behave.

After having my simulations ready in separate GEOs, I setup a camera and composed the scene. after having a clear composition a lot of my work became polish work for the final product. a lot of that polish consisted in timing things correctly, changing collision behaviors, and particle size/ spawn count.
